Thirty-four years after its founding, alumni of the University of Santo Tomas Singers in Manila—now living across the globe and collectively known as The University of Santo Tomas Singers Alumni International—will reunite for a European concert tour in October 2026.
The 53 singers, representing different generations, will perform with founding conductor Prof. Fidel Gener Calalang Jr. in Valencia and Barcelona, Spain, and Freiburg, Weilburg, and Berlin, Germany, marking the choir’s 35th foundation anniversary.
The UST Singers has earned more than 90 top international choral prizes and made history as the first choir to win the Choir of the World Pavarotti Trophy twice, in 1995 and 2010, at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales.
For the singers, the story goes far beyond the trophies and concert tours. It is a story of decades of music, friendship, international journeys, and relationships that have endured.
Now, that journey comes home to Berlin with “Musik, Liebe, und Freundschaft” — Music, Love, and Friendship, presented at the iconic Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, a symbol of remembrance, resilience, and reconciliation.
This is more than a concert — it is a homecoming, celebrating the enduring power of music, love, and friendship through sacred music, international works, Filipino folk songs, inspirational pieces, and Broadway favorites.
